Introduction

Caregiver. What is the first thing that pops up in your head when you hear the word

caregiver? We would think of someone that cares for someone and to be one's side when

they are in need of medical attention. Do we ever question ourselves if we are capable of

being a caregiver. Maybe. Not all of you. Caregivers have a challenging, stressful job,

especially if they are married to the person that needs to be looked after for.

They are basically "On Call" 24/7. They sometimes have good nights rest, and sometimes

there are bad nights. I, for one, am a caregiver to my husband Daniel, who is a quadriplegic.

Not only do I have to care for him, but I also look after our 19 month old son, Evan.

Being a caregiver can mess with you spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and

financially. There are hardships in all of these areas for us, but we're holding out and staying

strong. My name is Elizabeth Ribera, and I'll be sharing my stories of being a family

caregiver and our adventures. :)  Oh yes, please forgive this cheesy picture of me! I don't

like taking pictures of myself, and this is probably one of the ones that I liked that makes

me feel like a Super Mom or Super Wife! Alright, alright I will post better pictures up

in the future.
